Stop retyping what is already on your screen.
Words you can see on your iPhone but can't select — inside a screenshot, a screen recording, or spoken audio. MAGTEXT reads them on the device and hands them back as text you can paste.
Free to try · one-time purchase · no account
MAGTEXT is not on the EU App Store yet. Open the App Store anyway
What it does
All of it happens on the phone in your hand. There is no server of ours in the middle, because there isn't one at all.
Paste a link, open it in the built-in browser, get to exactly what you need, and capture it there. You keep working the way you always did.
Text inside a screenshot or a recording becomes text again. The recognition runs on the device, so the picture never has to leave it.
Spoken audio is transcribed with timings, and can be written out as a subtitle file — useful long after the recording is over.
Privacy
This isn't a setting you switch on. There is no account, no server of ours, and nothing to opt out of.
Getting it
You get a number of captures for free, so you can find out whether it fits the way you work before any money changes hands. After that it is a single purchase — no subscription and no account. Apple handles the payment; the price is shown on the App Store page.
MAGTEXT is on the App Store. The button above takes you straight to it — the price is shown there.
Before you buy
No. There is no sign-up, no login and no profile to create. You install it and it works. The payment goes through Apple, using the Apple ID you already have.
No. A number of captures are free so you can try it properly first, and after that it is a single purchase that stays yours. There is no recurring charge and no bill that grows with use.
Back to you. It is handed to the clipboard so you can paste it straight into whatever you were working in. It is not stored in the app, and no history of it is written.
The recognition and the transcription run on the device, so none of that work needs a network. The one part that does is opening a web page in the built-in browser — fetching a page needs the network, exactly as any browser would.
Through Apple. Because the purchase is made inside the app, it is billed and refunded by Apple under the App Store's terms, not by us. If something is wrong with the app itself, write to us as well — the person who built it reads that mail.
Kotocast is for a Windows PC or a Mac and turns your voice into typing. MAGTEXT is for an iPhone and turns what is already on the screen back into text. The rule is the same in both: the work runs on your own machine, and you buy it once.
Questions about MAGTEXT go to the same address as everything else, and are read by the person who built it.
